Performance coaching

OBJECTIVES:

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  1. Master the skill of coaching and develop an approach that has a wide application in one to one and team situations.
  2. Enable others to find solutions, develop skills, change behaviour and change attitudes.
  3. Focus others to produce specific results through personally owned and committed action steps.
  4. Increase the motivation of their staff by an enhanced sense of partnership, support and team work.
  5. Increase their own personal effectiveness by accelerated problem solving and issue resolution.
  6. Effectively use coaching to enhance other initiatives eg. Performance Reviews.

PROGRAMME:

  • What is coaching and its uses?
  • Review of interpersonal skills relevant to
  • Successful coaching:
    • Listening
    • Use of open questions
    • Non judgmental feedback (giving & receiving)
  • Use of good coaching models
  • How to produce SMART objectives
  • Confronting poor performance
  • Practice coaching using "live" issues.

METHODOLOGY

The workshop is highly participative and is based on a do/discover/review process. It is essential that each participant has identified at least three business issues to be coached on from which he/she would get high value.
